From Our Pastor

We are simply a body of believers in the “heart of Ironton,” with a heart for this tri-state region! You will find that we are friendly, excited, and cooperative in trying to meet the needs for spiritual growth and dedication to Jesus Christ.
More than just numerous programs we try to minister to the spiritual climate of the individual. Teaching ministries such as Sunday School, Wednesday Bible Study, visitation, and missions all seem to make for a “growing and healthy” celebration in the Lord.  We still remain committed to our vision and sole purpose to see those that are lost come to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Steve Harvey, Senior Pastor

Pastor Steve Harvey has been serving at Sharon since 1989 and has become the face and the atmosphere of what the church is all about. The excitement and encouragement that he brings through his sermons, lessons, and his life make him a dynamic leader as he aspires to share God’s vision for our church. With his wife, Ann, he has 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Steve’s verse that has driven him to live by faith is Mark 10:27, ” With
men it is impossible, but not with God:  for with
                                             God all things are possible.”

Kathy Markins, Worship & Music Director

Kathy was born and raised right here in Ironton. She has been a member of Sharon Baptist for the past 24 years. She knew from a young age that God would use her to minister through music. She has been the Music Director since November 2011 and through her ministry God has done wonderful things. Her favorite verse explains that we can do nothing without God, but God can do it through us if we are
willing: Mark 10:27, “With men it is impossible, but
not with God, because all things are possible with
                                            God.”

Paula Dalton, Church Secretary

Paula has been a faithful member of Sharon Baptist since 1974. As she has grown up here, she has become more and more involved as she started playing the piano for the main services in 1977. In 1979 she began teaching our pre-school program which she still teaches now. Paula has also been the church secretary since 2001. The bible verse that that encourages her to do what she has been doing
for years is Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the
way he should go; and when he is old, he will not
                                            depart from it.”
